ClipBook window location

In the previous versions, the clipboard history window always opened at the last position on the active screen. ClipBook remembers the window position and size on each screen.

In this update, ClipBook supports 5 more locations where you can open the clipboard history window. You can choose one of the following locations:

  1. Last location on the active screen (default). ClipBook window remembers its position on each screen and opens at the last location on the active screen.
  2. Center of the active screen. ClipBook window will be opened at the center of the active screen.
  3. Center of the active window. The window will be opened at the center of the active window. If there is no active window, it will be opened at the center of the active screen.
  4. Screen with mouse pointer. ClipBook window will be opened on the screen where the mouse pointer is located.
  5. Mouse pointer location. The window will be opened near the mouse pointer location.
  6. Text caret location. The window will be opened under the current text caret location. If the caret location cannot be determined, it will be opened at the center of the active window.

Note: to find the current text caret location, ClipBook uses macOS Accessibility APIs . It works well with most applications, but some applications may not provide the caret location. In these cases, ClipBook will be opened at the center of the active window.

To select the preferrable window location, go to ClipBook Settings -> General, and select the Open window at option.

Edit mode shortcut as toggle

You can now exit the edit mode by pressing the same shortcut that you used to enter the edit mode: E.

Moreover, when you finish editing history item content and exit the edit mode using E or Esc, ClipBook will automatically hide the Preview panel if it was hidden when you entered the edit mode.

That’s all in this update. If you have any suggestions or feature requests, please feel free to submit it on the Roadmap page.
