Where ClipBook goes further

Built for people who paste a lot of text

Raycast gives you a searchable history inside a launcher. ClipBook keeps everything and gives you tools to work with it.

Transform text as you paste

Raycast can paste as plain text. ClipBook can also change case, trim whitespace, remove line breaks and apply 78 transformations without leaving the keyboard.

Copy and merge

Copy several snippets one after another and ClipBook joins them into a single item, so you paste once instead of five times.

Paste many items, your way

Select several items and paste them together, separated by a new line, a comma, a tab or anything you choose. Raycast pastes one entry at a time.

Split one item into many

Copied a whole list at once? Split it into separate items, one per line, then paste them one by one.

Honest take

Where Raycast is better

ClipBook is not the right pick for everyone. Raycast is a great app that does a lot of things ClipBook does not.

Free to start

Clipboard History is part of Raycast's free plan, with up to 3 months of history. ClipBook costs $9.99 after a 5-day trial.

Much more than a clipboard

Raycast is also an app launcher with snippets, window management, AI and thousands of extensions. ClipBook only manages your clipboard and does it good.

Windows

Raycast runs on Windows too, with the same Clipboard History. ClipBook is Mac-only.

Privacy

No cloud, no account, no analytics

On where your clipboard lives the two apps agree. Raycast keeps Clipboard History on your device and leaves it out of its Cloud Sync, and ClipBook writes your history only to your Mac and never sends it anywhere.

The difference is what surrounds it. Unlimited history in Raycast comes with a Pro subscription tied to a Raycast account. ClipBook has no accounts, no built-in analytics and no tracking, and its source code is public so you can check it.

What does ClipBook add on top?

ClipBook shows passwords, API keys and tokens as dots in the history until you choose to reveal them, keeps its window out of screen sharing and recordings, and can clear the history every time you quit the app or restart your Mac.

FAQ

Yes, if the clipboard is a big part of your work. ClipBook keeps unlimited history without a subscription and adds tools Raycast Clipboard History doesn't have, such as tags, multi-select, multi-paste with separators, merging, splitting and text transformations. It is a one-time purchase of $9.99 with lifetime updates. If you only look up something you copied from time to time and already use Raycast, its built-in history is enough.

Yes. ClipBook replaces only the clipboard part, so you can keep Raycast as your launcher. Give the two apps different shortcuts, or turn off Clipboard History in Raycast under Settings → Clipboard History, and open ClipBook with its own shortcut.

On the free plan Raycast keeps clipboard items for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 3 months at most. Keeping them for 6 months, 1 year or without a limit requires Raycast Pro. ClipBook has no limit on how long or how many items it keeps. If you prefer a shorter history, you can set how long ClipBook keeps items of each type.

As of October 2026, unlimited clipboard history in Raycast is part of Raycast Pro, which costs $10 per month or $96 per year and also includes AI, Cloud Sync and other features. ClipBook costs $9.99 once for one Mac, $14.99 for two Macs and $29.99 for five Macs, with all future updates included. Over three years, Raycast Pro comes to $288 while ClipBook stays at $9.99.

Not directly. Raycast exports its data as an encrypted file that ClipBook can't read. The practical approach is to copy the items you rely on, such as your pinned entries, once while ClipBook is running and add them to favorites. ClipBook captures everything you copy from the moment you launch it.

No. Both apps keep your clipboard history on the device where you copied it. Raycast Cloud Sync covers snippets, quicklinks, notes and settings, but not Clipboard History, and Clipboard History is not part of Raycast for iPhone. ClipBook is a Mac-only app with no sync at all. This is a deliberate privacy decision: your clipboard never leaves your Mac.

ClipBook supports macOS 13 Ventura and later on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Raycast v2 requires macOS Tahoe on a Mac with Apple silicon.

No. ClipBook is a one-time purchase. You pay once, get a license key and receive every future update for free. There is also a 14-day money-back guarantee. See the pricing page for the one, two and five-Mac licenses.

Every feature is unlocked for 5 days from the first launch. There is no credit card, no account and no sign-up. When the trial ends, your history stays on your Mac and is available again as soon as you activate a license.
