How to delete history items
Delete items
To delete the selected item, do one of the following:
- Press ⌘⌫.
- Right-click the item and select Delete.
- Open the Command Palette and select Delete.
To delete several items at once, select multiple items and press ⌘⌫.
Deleted items move to the Trash, so you can put them back later. To undo a deletion right away, press ⌘Z. To redo it, press ⇧⌘Z.
Delete all items
Open the Command Palette and select Delete All, then confirm the deletion.
Delete All removes only the items you see. If you search or filter the history, it deletes only the matching items. For example, filter the history by an app to delete everything you copied from that app. With no search or filter, it deletes the whole history.
If Always keep favorites and tagged items is enabled in Settings → Storage, Delete All keeps your favorites and tagged items. This option is enabled by default.
To delete all items without a confirmation, disable Warn before manually clearing history in Settings → Storage.
Put deleted items back
- Type
Trashin the search field and select the Trash suggestion. ClipBook shows the deleted items, the most recently deleted first. - Select the items you want to restore and press ↵, or right-click them and select Put Back.
To delete items from the Trash for good, select them and press ⌘⌫. To delete all of them, open the Command Palette while the Trash is shown and select Empty Trash…. You can’t undo these actions.
If you copy something that is already in the Trash, ClipBook puts the item back in your history.

Change how long the Trash keeps items
By default, the Trash keeps deleted items for 1 month. To change it, go to Settings → Storage and choose a period in Keep deleted items in Trash. Choose Off to delete items for good right away. In that case, you can’t undo a deletion.
Items with hidden sensitive content are always deleted for good and don’t go to the Trash.
