How to filter history
You can filter your clipboard history by content type, by the app you copied from, by tags, and to show only favorites. Filters appear as tokens in the search field, so you can combine them with the text you search for.
Filter from the search field
- Open ClipBook and start typing. If the search field is not focused, press ⌘F.
- As you type, ClipBook suggests matching content types, apps and tags. For example, type
imato see Image, or the first letters of an app or tag name. - Use ↓ and ↑ to choose a suggestion, then press ↵ or ⇥. You can also click it.
The suggestion becomes a token in the search field, and the history shows only the matching items. Keep typing to add more tokens or to search for text inside the filtered items.
The content types you can filter by are Favorites, Text, Image, File, Link, Email and Color. The Text filter includes both plain and rich text.
Filter from the toolbar
Click the More button (⋯) in the toolbar and open Filter By. Choose a filter from the Type, Tags or Apps submenu. Choose it again to turn it off.
Combine filters
You can add several filters at once:
- Filters of the same kind show items that match any of them. For example, Image and Link show both images and links.
- Filters of different kinds narrow each other. For example, Image and an app show only images copied from that app.
- Favorites narrows the other filters. For example, Favorites and Image show only favorite images.
Remove filters
- To remove one token, click it and press ⌫. Or press ⌫ at the start of the search field to select the last token, then press ⌫ again.
- To remove all filters and the search text, press Esc.
- To remove all filters from the toolbar, click More (⋯) and choose Filter By → Clear Filter.
To see an item from the filtered list among the items copied around it, use Show in History.
