How to restore deleted items

When you delete items in ClipBook, they move to the Trash instead of being deleted for good. You can put them back for 1 month by default.

Undo a deletion

To undo the last deletion, press ⌘Z. This works for Delete, Delete All and Paste & Delete. ClipBook also restores the items you had selected before the deletion.

To redo it, press ⇧⌘Z.

Put items back from the Trash

  1. Type Trash in the search field and select the Trash suggestion. You can also click Sort in the toolbar and choose Filter By → Type → Trash.
  2. Select the items you want to restore. The most recently deleted items are at the top.
  3. Press ↵, or right-click the items and select Put Back.

The items return to your clipboard history.

If you copy something that is already in the Trash, or import an archive that contains it, ClipBook also puts the item back.

Delete items from the Trash for good

  • To delete the selected items, press ⌘⌫, or right-click them and select Delete Immediately….
  • To delete all items, open the Command Palette while the Trash is shown and select Empty Trash…. You can also click Empty Trash… in Settings → Storage.

You can’t undo these actions.

Change how long the Trash keeps items

  1. Go to Settings → Storage.
  2. Choose a period in Keep deleted items in Trash: 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 3 months.

When you choose a shorter period, ClipBook deletes older items from the Trash right away.

To turn the Trash off, choose Off. Deleted items are then removed for good, and you can’t undo a deletion.

Items that skip the Trash

These items are deleted for good and can’t be restored:
