Privacy Policy
Last update: July 12, 2024
This document outlines the Privacy Policy of “ClipBook” (“we,” “our,” or “us”) macOS desktop app, and applies to the most recent version of the app.
We respect your privacy and we are not interested in collecting any personal information. We believe such information is yours and yours alone. The less we know about you, the better both for you and for us.
Personal information
We do not collect, store, use or share any personal information. If you email us for support or other feedback, we will only use your email address to respond to your inquiry. If you would like us to delete your email address after the inquiry is resolved, please let us know.
Data storage
ClipBook stores the history of your clipboard items securely on your Mac only. This data is stored locally and is not transmitted to any external servers or third parties. ClipBook does not track your activity or collect any usage analytics or diagnostic data.
Accessibility access
Accessibility access is required only to let ClipBook to paste directly to other applications. If you do not provide the accessibility access, ClipBook will copy the selected item back to the system clipboard, but it will not be able to paste it directly to other applications. You can always enable or disable the accessibility access in the macOS System Preferences.
Internet connection
ClipBook does not require an internet connection to work except one case: when you manually check for updates.
ClipBook may contact the following URLs to check for updates, but this happens only when you manually check for updates:
- https://clipbook.app/downloads/mac/x64/appcast.xml
- https://clipbook.app/downloads/mac/universal/appcast.xml
If a new version is found, ClipBook will offer you to download the update, but will not perform the update without your confirmation.
ClipBook will operate correctly (except the check for updates feature) on computers that do not have an internet connection, or if you restrict access to the internet using third-party tools.
Support interactions
If you contact us for support, we may ask you to provide additional information to help us resolve your issue. This information may include system information and other details related to the issue you are experiencing. This information is collected only to help resolve your inquiry.

This privacy policy becomes active on the date indicated at the beginning of it. We may make changes to the privacy policy at any time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last update” date at the top of this privacy policy. We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your privacy.
